I am an award-winning British multimedia investigative journalist. Since October 2018 I have been a reporter for Coda Story, covering disinformation, the war on science and authoritarian technology. I have also written and worked as a radio reporter and video journalist covering politics, migration, LGBTQ issues, environmental affairs and culture for platforms such as WIRED, The Daily Beast, the Huffington Post, USA Today, Rappler and Eurasianet.
Recent stories have been on how Uyghurs were bussed across China to work in forced labor factories during the coronavirus lockdown, how anti-vaccine disinformation spreads and targets young women, how fake cures for Covid-19 have become an epidemic of their own, and how Russian disinformation targets US-owned biolabs.
In 2020 I won the European press prize distinguished reporting award for a multimedia project I reported and produced in collaboration with WIRED on Uyghur women fighting a digital resistance against China’s surveillance.
I am the founder and producer of Coda LIVE, a new-format live journalism show bringing stories from all over the world to the stage, using audio and video elements in tandem with narrative storytelling.
In 2018 graduated with honors from Columbia Journalism School.
